The San Francisco 49ers (often referred to as the Niners) are a professional American football team based in the San Francisco Bay Area. They are currently members of the Western Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The team plays its home games in San Francisco, California, while the club's headquarters and practice facility are located in nearby Santa Clara. Patrick L. Willis (born January 25, 1985 in Bruceton, Tennessee) is an American football player who plays inside linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers of theNational Football League. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers 11th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Mississippi.During Willis' senior season at Ole Miss, he was awarded the Butkus Award and the Jack Lambert Award as the nation’s top linebacker.
